Owen Reeves

Owen Reeves is the fourth generation of his family to work in the garden industry. His life growing up around plants led to a passion for nature and the outdoors and a knack for growing plants (and keeping them alive!). After many years working at retail garden centres, Owen started The Outside Element focusing on horticultural consultation, design, and planting, with the belief that his vast plant knowledge and expertise is what will set your green space apart.  Owen is passionate about educating the everyday gardener, particularly about creating sustainable outdoor spaces with edibles, native plants, and unique species. When not working with plants, Owen is usually found enjoying the outdoors on hikes, canoe trips, and other outdoor adventures with his wife and dog. Owen Reeves appears regularly as the Outdoor & Garden Expert on Canada’s most-watched daytime lifestyle series, The Marilyn Denis Show, which airs weekdays at 10 a.m. ET (11 a.m. PT) on CTV and the CTV GO app.

The Outside Element

Owen started The Outside Element because he saw that there was a demand for his plant knowledge.  Some landscapers are excellent at the hardscape elements – your walkways, decks, pools, pergolas, and other features – but Owen’s true expertise and passion is to ensure that the plants you place can highlight those elements and truly set your green spaces apart.  Owen wants to help you find your horticultural personality with plants that will thrive in your space and create the perfect Outside Element. Owen takes care to design a space that works well for you to transfer his love of gardening and the outdoors to you.
